What is mediven plus?
mediven plus is a medical-grade venous compression line for moderate to more severe conditions, offered across a broad range of formats including calf, thigh, panty, and men's leotard. It provides enhanced containment in higher therapeutic compression levels.
How is mediven plus different from the fashion lines like comfort or sheer & soft?
Plus is a medical line built for stronger therapeutic needs and more extensive coverage, where comfort and sheer & soft are fashion lines aimed at lighter, everyday support. plus offers the broader garment formats (including panty and men's leotard) and the firmer compression ranges needed for moderate-to-severe symptoms.
What garment styles does mediven plus come in?
Plus is available in a wide range of formats including calf, thigh, panty, and men's leotard configurations, with open- and closed-toe options on many styles. The broad format range lets a clinician match coverage to where containment is needed.
Do I need a prescription for mediven plus?
Plus is typically offered in 20-30 mmHg and higher, which is generally prescribed and fitted by a clinician. Confirm the level and fit with your prescriber before ordering, especially for thigh and panty formats.
How does Acu-Knit® help with a firmer compression garment like plus?
Acu-Knit® creates an open mesh structure that keeps the compression profile accurate and consistent while remaining easier to apply and more breathable than a denser knit. That matters more at firmer levels, where compliance and accuracy are critical.
What does 30-40 mmHg compression treat?
30-40 mmHg is a strong therapeutic compression range used for severe varicose veins, significant edema, healed venous ulcers, and chronic venous insufficiency. It is a clinician-directed level for more advanced venous conditions.
Do I need a prescription for 30-40 mmHg?
Yes, 30-40 mmHg is firm medical compression that should be prescribed and fitted by a clinician. Accurate measurement is important at this level for both effectiveness and safety.
Is 30-40 mmHg hard to put on?
Higher compression is firmer and takes more technique to apply, which is why mediven uses Acu-Knit® construction and offers donning aids to make it manageable. A donning aid or rubber gloves can make application much easier, ask your provider for guidance.
Can anyone wear 30-40 mmHg?
No, firm compression at this level is not appropriate for everyone, particularly people with significant arterial disease or certain other conditions. A clinician should confirm that 30-40 mmHg is safe and appropriate before you wear it.
