What is mediven plus?
mediven plus is a medical-grade venous compression line for moderate to more severe conditions, offered across a broad range of formats including calf, thigh, panty, and men's leotard. It provides enhanced containment in higher therapeutic compression levels.
How is mediven plus different from the fashion lines like comfort or sheer & soft?
Plus is a medical line built for stronger therapeutic needs and more extensive coverage, where comfort and sheer & soft are fashion lines aimed at lighter, everyday support. plus offers the broader garment formats (including panty and men's leotard) and the firmer compression ranges needed for moderate-to-severe symptoms.
What garment styles does mediven plus come in?
Plus is available in a wide range of formats including calf, thigh, panty, and men's leotard configurations, with open- and closed-toe options on many styles. The broad format range lets a clinician match coverage to where containment is needed.
Do I need a prescription for mediven plus?
Plus is typically offered in 20-30 mmHg and higher, which is generally prescribed and fitted by a clinician. Confirm the level and fit with your prescriber before ordering, especially for thigh and panty formats.
How does Acu-Knit® help with a firmer compression garment like plus?
Acu-Knit® creates an open mesh structure that keeps the compression profile accurate and consistent while remaining easier to apply and more breathable than a denser knit. That matters more at firmer levels, where compliance and accuracy are critical.
What does 40-50 mmHg compression treat?
40-50 mmHg is the strongest standard compression range, used for severe and advanced venous disease, severe edema, and ulcer management under clinical supervision. It is reserved for serious conditions where firmer support is required.
Do I need a prescription for 40-50 mmHg?
Yes, 40-50 mmHg is the firmest standard medical compression and should always be prescribed and professionally fitted. It is not a level to self-select.
Why would a clinician prescribe 40-50 mmHg over 30-40?
40-50 mmHg is chosen when severe venous disease, severe edema, or ulcer management needs more containment than 30-40 mmHg provides. The decision is based on your clinical picture and your clinician's assessment.
Is 40-50 mmHg difficult to apply, and what helps?
At this firmness, application takes technique, and a donning aid is strongly recommended, many mediven systems at this level include one. Ask your provider to demonstrate proper application so you can put the garment on safely and consistently.
